We received an Garmin c330 GPS for Christmas from my mother-in-law. We had picked this particular model out because my cousin and his wife have it and have decided it was a worthwhile purchase. Also while on our trip to New York to visit them, I had the chance to enjoy the benefits of traveling with a GPS. I would say I fairly well traveled, at least enough to make my way where I am going and around places. So for us, this is not a necessity but a travel convience.

We are leaving tonight! Needless to say we are very excited. Although I have not packed yet, I am ready to go! This will probably be the longest day of work on record.

Kristin and I just celebrated our 1 year anniversary of marriage. We hadn’t planned anything until at the last we started talking about what to do, then I realized the Black Crowes concert was the night before. I had already bought 2 tickets for it. So we decided to just hit the concert, stay the night in St. Louis and go to Six Flags the next day.
The Black Crowes rocked!! We were a little late so we missed the first band “Drive-by Truckers”. Which was cool, because we showed up just as they had left the stage, I wasnt dying to see them. Before the Crowes came out, Robert Randolph and the Family band. I think they are groovy, but definately something to be in the mood for listening. Live they were awesome!! I highly recommend checking them out.
Kristin enjoyed our seats because we sat in the first row after the walkway so she could people watch. Which I admit was very humorous. We did have a great time.

I am so pumped!! Kristin and I are going to Nashville, TN this weekend to see Brian Regan live at the Polk Theater. I can not wait! If you haven’t heard any of his material, or even ever heard of him, then check him out. He is hilarious and clean.

Kristin and I were walking out of Walmart tonight to some perfectly formed sky to ground lighting. It is one of my life goes to photography lighting. It is such an awesome, powerful thing!
Just sucks that we had such great weather all week long then this crappy weather this weekend. We took a road trip yesterday afternoon to Marion, Ky for their Back Roads festival. They were packing up by the time we got there due to rain. Always fun to go on a back country drive, though.

Kristin and I had a bit of a time deciding what we wanted to do yesterday so in the late afternoon we headed to Southern Illinois. If you haven’t checked out the Shawnee Wine Trail, we recommend it as a must thing to do.We started at the Blue Sky Vineyards, this place is amazing looking. It’s strikingly odd, you are driving down these bearly two lane roads out in the middle of no where. I mean you look left and you see a field, you look right and see woods. Then all of a sudden on the right is a green grass hill with these very good nice looking gates! Kristin loved that they had this huge metal art work of a buffalo. This winery was quite the site. It’s main building appeared ot be Ranch style. Inside the tasting area was a large valuted ceiling with orneight plaster and painting. Outside was a patio over looking this man made lake and rock waterfall. Beyond that you could see more vineyards of vine not yet yeilding green leaves and grapes. Although they were out of their wines that I would have preferred, we still enjoyed tasting the remaining choices.
Next we were off to the Owl Creek Vineyard. Now this place was more our speed. First they had a huge black puppy laying at the door, that we later found out his name is Walter and he is part Lab, part Mastiff, and part South African Newfoundland. He was very cool. Th
e tasting room was upstairs and it was only us and the vineyard’s owner. I was very impressed, because we actually had the chance to learn about his wines and vineyard.
I had a good time and can not wait to go back and hit the other wineries.
