Kristin, Heather, and I went to the John Mayer concert last night in Murray, KY. Let me tell you it was well worth it. He puts on one heck of a concert. A friend of mine (Nori) from college turned me onto John Mayer’s music not long after his first album came out. (Incidentally, she also introduced me to Jack Johnson’s music, who I absolutely must see in concert in the future.) I eventually burned out on John Mayer’s music, due to the love song feel of most of his songs. Until, this latest album
Continuum which is a new John Mayer sound. Not a complete remake, but what I believe draws a wider audiuance than just the love sick girlies.
Icing on the cake was that Mat Kearney opened for him, one of my new favorite [niche] artists. He sound is very different, you will have to check him out for yourself, because words can not describe his music. It is really funny how I learned of Mat Kearney. Kristin and I were watching MTV one night and at the end of one of the shows it said music by Mat Kearney, so I hope on the World Wide Web and checked him out a little more. Eventually I had to get this album.

Kristin and I just celebrated our 1 year anniversary of marriage. We hadn’t planned anything until at the last we started talking about what to do, then I realized the Black Crowes concert was the night before. I had already bought 2 tickets for it. So we decided to just hit the concert, stay the night in St. Louis and go to Six Flags the next day.
The Black Crowes rocked!! We were a little late so we missed the first band “Drive-by Truckers”. Which was cool, because we showed up just as they had left the stage, I wasnt dying to see them. Before the Crowes came out, Robert Randolph and the Family band. I think they are groovy, but definately something to be in the mood for listening. Live they were awesome!! I highly recommend checking them out.
Kristin enjoyed our seats because we sat in the first row after the walkway so she could people watch. Which I admit was very humorous. We did have a great time.

Kristin and I went for an afternoon flick. Checked out the new “Failure to Launch”. I tend to enjoy Matthew McConaughey movies. It was a worthwhile movie to see if your looking for a good lighthearted laugh. It might be a renter considering other options of movies out right now.

Man nothing beats live music! Kristin and I, along with several others went to SONGWRITER”S NIGHT at WKCTC. It was in the theater up on stage. It was a rather nice experience they had a small stage set up on one end of the theater stage and tables and chairs on the rest of the stage for the audience.
The performers were very good. They started off with a friend of ours, Dale Bickford. He is a very talented musician that I enjoy listening to. He was followed by a Shawn Chester, who was also very good and very lively. He sang some contemporary Christian music. Rick Scott, songwriter and former Alabama band member, was next and was accompanied by two talented singers. One was a 17 year old girl, who man wow could she sing!
The gem of the night, to me at least, was three guys who called themselves the Wes Kaintuck and the Atomic Ramblers, a three-piece bluegrass band. They are actually a part of a larger band called Bawn in the Mash. Never would have guessed an old friend of mine Nathan Lynn would be singing bluegrass! But if you ever have the chance, check these guys out!! They are a rocking good time. And if you have ever spent any time in Paducah or lived in Paducah then they have some songs that will definitely make you crack a smile!

The Unoffical VW commercial that is all over the news and the net is something to be seen if you haven’t. Personally, I think its hilarious. One of many places to view the ad
Secondly, the HP commercials with the Picture book song, how can you watch that video and not get that song stuck in your head. I was in the other room tonight and heard it. I have been singing the song ever since, but then again I like the song.
