Funny title. Kristin ran a Sprint Triathlon the weekend before last. I was very very proud of her. For those who do not know what a sprint triathlon is, this one was a 1/2 mile swim, 12 mile bike ride, 3.3 mile run. So we spent the weekend in the Louisville for the triathlon. She placed 3 in her age division and 14th out of all 58 women. This was awesome considering her this was her very first. Her complete time was 1 hour 17 mins. This include all three events plus transition time between these which is the time it takes to get dried off, shoes on, and on your bike. She did awesome for her first triathlon. I believe the next one she can really push it, now that she knows what to expect and be at the top.
So, funny story. You are probably wondering about the Trophy wife comment. Well last night Kristin was in the shower and I just happened to look out on the porch for some reason. There was a small box with our porch rug covering it. I asked her if she had ordered anything and she said no. I opened it and it had a trophy in it for Kristin from when we ran the Get Fit 5K for ISP Chemical and Baptist Family Fitness. She won second place in her age division. So we were joking back and for that she is my trophy wife.

Kristin and I ran another 5K this past Saturday morning. It was the Great Pumpkin Race, sponsored in part by Lourdes Hospital. It was a nice change of course, this course started at the hospital and snaked through a nice neighborhood which is very much full of hills. It was no where near as bad as I had imagined it.
Saturday night we drove to Murray for Homecoming. My friend Chad and his fiancee Ashley had a BBQ at their house. Several old friends showed up: Renee, Beth, Laura, Ben and Drew, and the Nuge. We had a good time and some good food. We later headed up to Murray to the Big Apple where Beas, Lance, Lance’s new woman, Ian, Alissa, Foley, Jamie Bell, and Jesse all were at. It was good to see everyone. Kristin got to see Bus and Shawna, along with a few other old soccer friends.

I still can not believe it myself, that I not only finished a 5K run, but finished it running. In other words, I ran the entire 5K. I would not have been able to complete such a feat if it werent for my beautiful wife who pulled me the last mile and kept reminding me to take slow deep breaths. She is an inspiration. And man was it hot. I thought I was going to pass out before we were halfway thru the race.
After the race we walked for a bit then I sat down on a curb, that is when I felt like I could really get sick. Man I just couldnt cool off. In the end it was very much worth it. $15, 2 free t-shirts, and feeling of death.

So it’s hard to believe we have almost been back a week. This weekend flew by. Kristin scrapbooked with my sisters, so I posted all of our pictures up to date on the website except for our wedding pictures.
Kristin and I were talking this morning and she told me about a 5K Run here in Paducah that she saw a flyer for this morning. She wanted to know if I would to participate with her. I think it might kill me, but will be a good excuse to get my butt to the gym everyday this week.
