In other news, Kristin and I had a get-away for the weekend. We drove to St.Louis, Missouri Saturday. We spent the day at the Missouri Botanical Gardens (pics). It was very pretty, really made us want to pay a return visit in the spring when all the flowers are bloming. We had a nice diner at the Cheesecake Factory, one of our personal favorite places to eat. I always overeat when we eat there. Their portions are huge!
After dinner we went to REI, where they were having their annual fall clean out sale. (Man what great deals! Goodbye money.) We also wonder upon Trader Joe’s where they had Charles Shaw wine for 2.99 a bottle. Even if it isnt the “best” wine you have ever tasted, its dirt cheap. We bought a case, it will be nice for large gatherings.
Bedding for the night Saturday was provided at the nicest hotel I have ever stayed at, for a price of course. The Westin of St.Louis is across the street from Busch stadium. (Side note: We could actually see the inside of the new stadium and it looks very impressive. I shall greatly miss the old, but change is good.) It was the type of hotel you would see on the travel channel. When you walk in the lobby it had chairs and tables place about for lounging. The whole hotel was decorated in a modern decor. (pics).
Sunday morning we slept in and actually ate breakfast in bed. Around 11 we made our way to Grant’s Farm. (pics) We had a blast watching all people feeding the goats.
