So this morning I get up to get ready for work, get a shower and get dressed. I then go outside and start my truck, because after all it is 5 degrees with a -4 windchill. Go back inside get all my stuff together. Twenty mins later come outside to leave and there is a pool of anti-freeze under my truck with it steadily dripping. So it appears its my radiator, couldn’t get lucky and it be a hose no. So I turn it off and 10 mins later it isn’t dripping any more. With me being so lucky of getting to work a 12 hr shift on Saturday that leaves me all kinds of time to look at it. Grrrr.

Working the midnight shift just sucks! Last night (the first night I had to work it) was not quite as bad, I never really got tired and stayed busy the whole time. Tonight although I have had more work than last night, seems to be an endless night. It mess up your sleep schedule so bad. I feel like all I did today ( now yesterday) was sleep. When in all actuality I really only wound up with 4.5 hours of sleep. The worst part is I don’t get to cuddle up next to Kristin.
And to just think of all the millions of people who are at home in their comfy beds sleeping.. dreaming. If only I were there. I have 2.75 hours of work left, then my drive home to my room where I have lightproofed, by hanging a doubled up blanket over the window. I couldn’t believe after doing that yesterday how much darker it was in my room. It was kind of funny, I was awake laying in bed at about 3:30 pm and judging by my room it felt like about 7:30 or 8 pm.

You guessed it! Got my truck back yesterday. Just nice to have that sense of freedom that you can drive anywhere you need or want to without having to borrow someone’s vehicle. Kristin is the greatest, she loaned me her car when I really needed a vehicle. She is the greatest what can I say.
Those of you that don’t know, my transmission went out on my truck. I had been little over 2 weeks without it. It was actually all the bearings in the transmission and while they had it down I went ahead and had them put a clutch kit in it.

So I swapped an hour with my weekend co-worker so I could get off at seven last night. I exit the building to be greeted by Kristin. Chad, Keara, Drew and Ben are in Ben’s jeep. Called Texas Roadhouse and they told Chad it was a 75 min wait. I suggested some comparable places since Chad wanted ribs. I suggested Logan’s or Damons. They chose the latter. I used to eat there all the time, but after our experience I quickly learned why they weren’t as busy as other establishments. Everyone that ordered a steak received a cold chewy piece of meat. Chad and I both had cold ribs. And our server had no clue what order what at any point in the meal, not to mention when forgetting our drinks would tell us that they were really busy at the bar when we could see from where we were sitting that the bar was only half full and the two girls working it were standing and talking. We eat what we could swallow and played the trivia game. I became rather disgusted, so when our waitress was taking all our plates off, I politely asked if she could take Kristin’s steak off our ticket (she had only ate two small bites and gave me a sample also), because it was cold and chewy when she received it. She said she would go get the manager. Some almost 20 mins later she shows up with all our tickets and says the manager removed 9 dollars from each of our meals. So say the least I was glad they did something, but none the less disappointed. That will by my last dining experience there.
I was determined, even though I was somewhat exhausted, that we were still going to have a good time. So as a group we decided on bowling next. We drove to the closest bowling alley, Cardinal lanes, where the guy told us it would be an hour to an hour and a half before we could get a lane. We said adios and drove across town to the other bowling lanes (which in my past experiences was the nicer, cleaner, and had half way normal people working there). We go in and notice it is pretty packed with every lane taken. I go to the counter where this scrawny older trashy looking woman is standing with a notepad. The first page was filled with name, the first half scribbled out. I gave her my name and she wrote it down on the second page. She told me no one had waited longer than 15 mins so far. I am then thing hey that will be good. So 45 mins later I walk up there, patiently wait for her to wait on ever tom, dick, and harry that walked up. And politely asked how long it would be for us. She said she didn’t have my name on the paper. I told her I watched her write it down on the second sheet, all the while she is trying to shove the paper in my face to show me. She says, “This is the second sheet, see..” and pulls the first sheet out of the garbage to show me. I tell her again that I watched her right it down towards the top of the second sheet that she had completely scribble over to the point of illegibility by now. Then she decides to tell me she sort of remember someone telling her that name. I am ready to scream at this point. So she writes my name in after the next name listed. I just shake my head and walk away to tell the others and see if they still wanted to stay and bowl. Finally she calls my name next. I was going to suggest a free pair of shoes at the counter, but she did apologize after she angrily told me what lane we were on like we were a nuisance and I replied, “WE NEED SOME SHOES!” and stared at her like she was stupid.
Some people just need to get buy a clue.

I can’t wait. I am leaving work an hour early tonight to go eat with some friends who are driving up to go out. We are going over to the big town of Metropolis, IL to eat at Willy Jack’s, formerly Fast Eddies. I haven’t been in ages, but I know for a fact it’s a good time for all. Only 5.5 hours to go!!

Whose your pick? I just finished watching the Colts vs. Patriots. I had picked the Patriots, their defense is just tough. I would say the Eagles would be meeting the Patriots in the SB, but Carolina is flat moving the ball down the field. This is definitely going to be a good game.
